Since its launch YouTube has been one of the students’ favorites, and in latter years it has also become an important resource for teachers as well. I use snippets as starters, conversation starters or part of a Prezi-timeline task.
Short video clips have become the standard for the younger generation, and many of them are also avid YouTubers themselves, uploading latest skateboarding tricks or ski trips. Being media-savvy and media-critical continues to be paramount in any kid’s education, and no teacher should underestimate the power of video and the context of it.
